Have you fallen and you feel you cannot rise again?
I am pleased to tell you that the fall of a man is not the end.
What is that thing you lost and you feel it is over for you?
Come off it, I want to tell you that the glory of the latter shall surpass the former as the Lord has said in His word.
Haggai 2:9, “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts”
Our case study is job
Job was a man after God’s heart, a man God cherish so much that when satan saw these he became jealous and asked God for permission to test Job.
God allowed Satan to test Job but instructed him not to touch his soul.
During the period that Job was tested, everyone left him, they pushed him to deny God but Job didn’t. He refused to deny God.
Job 2:3-9, “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.
Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.”
It was so serious that even his wife gave up on him, she told job to curse God and die. But he didn’t
Job 2:10, “But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
Job passed through this test for years and yet he did not fail. He didn’t disappoint God”.
And at the later end God blessed him and cause him to laugh and triumph over his enemies.
Job 42:10-12, “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.”
What is that thing you are passing through and you feel like it is over? This is an encouragement that it is not over yet! Keep praying and trusting God.
