Pilgrims are people who make a journey to a holy place for a religious reason.
It is very important in our walk with God and in our existence on earth that this world is not our home.
We as Christians are on a journey and we haven’t gotten to the place of rest.
Our place of rest is heaven and it is our home.
We must be conscious of everything we do and how we live, because we would give report of how we spent our life on Earth.
1 Peter 2:11-13, “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;”
We must abstain from all evil and everything that will affect our journey such as lust and the likes.
Our life must be a productive one, there are lots of distraction on the way and we as believers must expect them and be prepared.
There is a treasure that is laid up for the faithful servants and those that finish well.
Hebrews 11:10, 13, “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”
