Obedience

According to Merriam-Webster, obedience is defined as “the act or instance of obeying; the quality or state of being obedient.” Furthermore, the definition of obedient is “submissive to the restraint or command of authority: willing to obey.”
Are you truly obedient to the rulership of Christ?
In our world today most Christians claim they love God but when God gives an instruction, they find it very difficult to adhere and obey.

It is important to know that our love is tested by our level of obedience.
It was through the disobedience of Adam that sin came into the world and like wise the obedience of the man, Jesus brought Grace and salvation to the world.
Romans 5:19, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
God loves obedient children, people who are willing to obey Him no matter what and His wrath are upon disobedient ones.
Colossians 3:6,” For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.”
By the fruit of obedience we know who are really children of God.

There are lots of people that disobeyed God in the Bible and the Lord dealt with them.
Job 36:11-12, “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.”
A very good example are the children of Israel, though God called them His favorite but also discipline them when they disobey Him.

Jeremiah 9:13-16, “And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.”
We need to obey God every day of our lives to show that we love Him and also to avoid His wrath.
Remember good children make their father proud and true obedience comes without any complain.
